Gods of Olympus

The gods of the Olympus are the most famous twelve gods of the Greek mythology. One of them is Kronus, who was castrated by his son Zeus. After fighting and winning against the Titans and the Giants, he took the rule of the mythological world and kept it till the end. During this time he shared the power with his brothers, with whom he lived in the highest mountain of Greece: as the name says, the Olympus in Macedonia. There, the gods ate ambrosia and drank nectar, delights saved just for them.

However, they went down tο the mortals quite often to help them, to punish them, to intervene in their destiny, but also to procreate with them.

The children of gods and humans were semi-gods and had exceptional powers. Often, they accomplished heroic deeds, and many of them are still known today, as for example Heracles or Perseus.

Gods were omnipotent, although the power of each one was limited with the power of the other gods (except for Zeus). They had weaknesses, passions and feelings; they got angry, were jealous, murdered and loved. But, most of all, they wanted recognition, respect and veneration from the people.

Although there are some little differences in which gods are considered as the twelve gods of the Olympus, here we will take just one of the interpretations.
