Culebre

It is the Spanish interpretation of the dragon. It is a large snake, with or without horns, whose scales are so hard that it can only be killed by wounding it in the throat or by feeding it something that hurts him. In many versions, they grow wings as they grow. He steals girls, kills people, and destroys everything he comes across. There are multiple caves or wells in Spanish geography with the name of cuelebre. In almost all the stories, when he touches an exceptionally beautiful woman, a horseman appears and manages to kill him, freeing the whole village. In others, it is the virgin who saves the girl with a comb that she throws down the throat of the snake.
