Hermes (for the Romans Mercurius) is the messenger of the gods. But he is also the god of the thieves and traders. He is the son of Zeus and Maia, a daughter of the titan Atlas. Its said that Zeus really loved her and really respected and took care of her.

Hermes wore a helmet with wings and winged sandals that made him fly, plus he hold a stick in his hands.

He supervised all the messages of Zeus and lead the souls in the kingdom of Hades, the underworld. One of his sons was the god of panic, Pan.
