During the Middle Ages, three cultures coexisted in Spain: Muslim, Jewish, and Christian. Even though to this day Spain remains christian in its majority, we can see the influences of the other two cultures in the myths and stories, specially the Muslim one, because, as we have said before and it’s important to remember, a big part of the Iberian Peninsula was Muslim for more than 7 centuries. Most of the stories and myths that remained, depict the Muslims or Jews as bad, but others show parts of their beautiful cultures. The Moras are one of the most famous myths, as well as the Legends of the Mosque of Cordoba. There are many legends and stories about these cultures, but they escape the scope of this topic.
